ASUS To Launch Hot New Liquid Cooling Graphics Card
Almost a year following the launch of Nvidia’s top graphics card, ASUS is set to release its one-of-a-kind GPU, that has already raked in a world record.
The ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 4090 is completely different from a regular RTX 4090 GPU, with significant boosts in the cooling process, binning process, and power delivery system. It comes with a custom 360mm radiator set to support a liquid cooling system, as well as a custom cold plate attached to the die, memory chips, and VRM section.
Asus opted for liquid metal instead of thermal paste, which increases thermal conductivity. The company has applied UV resin around the die and added two extra protective layers between the die and printed circuit board, to avoid liquid spilling over. Asus claims that due to this, the card can be installed vertically instead of horizontally.
Some lucky individuals have already had a chance to investigate this GPU, and as a result, it has set a new world record, overclocking 4,230MHz. However, these overclockers had to tear the built in cooler apart, and leverage liquid nitrogen instead to reach this, so regular individuals shouldn’t expect those clock speeds at home.
This has been tipped to be the most powerful graphics card of this generation, but it will need a huge PC case to comfortably fit, and any/all external cooling as well. And it depends on whether or not Nvidia releases a new RTX 4090 Ti GPU.
Pricing is currently unavailable, however Asus are hosting a launch event on September 19th, where other questions would be answered.
