Apple have completely revamped watchOS with the unveiling of watchOS 10 which now features new app designs for major applications including Apple Maps, Weather, Calls and more.

The company has redesigned the next big branded watch face which includes the likes of Mickey Mouse, Toy Story and now Snoopy, with a bunch of different animations available.

There is also a new ‘Palette’ design which features a minimalist approach, no dials but plenty of pastel-like colours around the screen.

Smart Stack began on iOS and will now make its way to Apple Watch. Not a full widget, but quite close. It will offer quick bits of information that a user may need throughout the day.

It can depict information such as weather, and upcoming calendar events, for the user to take a quick glance without having to open applications.

Apple are also trying to keep the Mindfulness app useful, and now it can let the user log exactly how they are feeling and write down what’s behind the feeling at that moment.

The watch can now also track the amount of time spent in daylight vs. ambient light sensor, and any sport user with an Apple Watch Series 8, or an Apple Watch Ultra, will be able to get detailed insights into wrist rotation and level of pronation in stance.

It can also track cycling workouts which appear as Live Activity and can be viewed on a connected phone with more metrics, that include a current heart rate. Also featuring the ability to track last know location making it easier for emergency services to find the user if needed.

The watchOS 10 update will be available on the following Apple Watch devices:

  • Apple Watch Series 4
  • Apple Watch Series 5
  • Apple Watch SE
  • Apple Watch Series 6
  • Apple Watch Series 7
  • Apple Watch Series 8
  • Apple Watch Ultra
