Apple True Wireless Powerbeats Pro Leaked
On the same day that Apple announced its news, content, and gaming services, images of its upcoming True Wireless Powerbeats Pro earbuds have been leaked.
The images were spotted hidden in the iOS 12.2 code by 9to5Mac.
They are strikingly similar to their predecessor, Powerbeats 3 released in 2016, but without the connecting cable.
Similar to the AirPods, they will come with a charging case with Lightning plug, but it is unclear if the case itself will support Qi wireless charging like the updated 2019 AirPods.
Technical details have not been revealed but they will support the same “Hey Siri” function as the new AirPods — seemingly corroborating reports that the new Powerbeats would use the AirPods’ H1 chip
Apple has not responded to the leak and no release date or price has been revealed.
The Powerbeats 3 currently retails for A$259.95 on the AU Apple store, however, as the Powerbeats Pro is fully wireless and come with a charging cable it could mean a much steeper price.
However, as AirPods are not designed for sweaty workouts, the new Beats offering will likely be a hit with gym-going iPhone-owners.
