Apple Plan 3 New iPhones As Sales Slow
Apple who for the first time are staring down the barrel of significantly reduced demand for their iPhones is set to launch three new iPhone models in an effort to turn their fortunes around.
The big US Company who have lost their position as the world’s most successful technology Company to Microsoft are facing tough competition as carriers such as Telstra start spruiking Android 5G mobile phones from LG, ZTE and Oppo as well as Samsung later in 2019.
Next month Samsung is set to launch a “fully functional” version of its long-in-development foldable phone, as well as the rumoured three variants of the Galaxy S10.
A higher-end fourth model with 5G connectivity is set to be launched later in the year. The event will take place in San Francisco.
The new iPhones will succeed the XR model that has shown sluggish demand with some analysts tipping that this may not be enough up against several new 5G smartphones from their competitors.
It’s also been revealed that Apple has decided to stick to liquid-crystal display (LCD) at a time when sluggish sales of iPhone XR cut into its most recent revenue projection, a recent report said, citing people familiar with the matter.
Last week, Apple issued its first revenue warning in nearly 12 years, sending its shares down 10 percent, their biggest intraday fall in six years.
Apple plans to continue with LCD model as the device has been in the production pipeline for months, the report said.
in 2020, Apple will fully switch to the organic light-emitting diode, or OLED, display for iPhones, thereby completely dropping the LCD model, the report said.
