Apple Music’s Song-Matching To Be Refined

Apple are looking to improve the song-matching function of Apple Music, bringing it up to the same level of accuracy as their iTunes Match

According to The Loop, Apple are now implementing audio fingerprint matching for current Apple Music subscribers.

They’ve labelled it as “one of the most significant updates to come to the service since it was introduced.”

Previously, Apple Music only used metadata to match and sync songs to your account.

This meant that the software would sometimes fail to distinguish between live performances of popular with studio versions, replacing one with the other.

The update is being rolled out both automatically and gradually to all current Apple Music subscribers.
