AmberTech Lose Optoma In Distie Shake Up

Taiwanese projector brand Optoma appear to have dumped Sydney based AmberTech who recently admitted they were struggling to grow sales in the consumer market.

According to Optoma they have given a “long-term distribution partnership” to World Best Technology Distributor (WBT), who are claiming that they will expand the national availability of the Optoma range in Australia over what AmberTech delivered.

Gordon Wu, General Manager of Optoma APAC said the new partnership represents a strong commitment from both companies to support the industry with high-end big screen and projection technology that provide the best in safety, reliability and efficiency.

“The partnership will allow Optoma to expand nationally through WBT’s sales channels and full service provided across Australia, while leveraging its strong relationships and technical capabilities focusing on big screen industry.”

Gerard Maggs, Director at WBT said the new partnership will strengthen its market position throughout Australia and provide new opportunities to grow.

“Optoma’s product capacity is world-class and we look forward to working closely with the local team to deliver ongoing value to our customers, particularly full product lines that require easier set-up for upgrades and new builds.”

WBT has operation bases and warehouse facilities in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
