Amazon Set To Anchor New $1.5B Melbourne Tower

Amazon is reportedly set to anchor a $1.5 billion skyscraper in Melbourne CBD, with the 60,000 sqm tower dubbed one of the largest office developments since the COVID19 crisis.

According to an exclusive report by The Australian, the move would see Amazon depart its Exhibition Street building, taking a space of 12,000 sqm – 14, 000 sqm in the new Charter Hall project.

The build is said to be one of the largest fast-tracked by the Victorian government, and is tipped to respark activity within Melbourne’s CBD following stage-four lockdown measures.

Completion of the first stage of the build is reportedly slated for late 2022.

The news will see Amazon anchor the new building, with other tenants said to include government agencies, and pledged sufficient to progress development.
