Amazon Leaks New ‘Echo Sub’ & Alexa Smart Plugs

Amazon’s forthcoming ‘Echo Sub’ subwoofer has leaked online, after the e-commerce giant revealed it’s launching at least eight new smart home products this year.

As previously reported, the new range is tipped to include an Alexa-powered microwave, amplifier, receiver, subwoofer and ‘car gadget’.

As per Pocket-lint, users have already noticed a listing for Amazon’s Echo Sub on its UK website.

The product claims to connect with one or more Echo smart speakers, to enhance/deepen audio quality.

Similar to other multi-room systems, the Echo Sub pledges to create a 2.1 stereo system.

Commentators claim the device will take on the likes of Apple’s HomePod and Google’s Home Max.

A notable difference is the need to connect to other Echo speakers, versus one more robust device.

Also leaked online is an Amazon branded ‘smart plug’, which claims to turn any non-smart home product into an Alexa-supported device.

The product takes on the likes of Lenovo’s smart plug range, alongside Kogan.com’s cheaper alternative.

As per Pocket-lintboth devices feature a release date of October 11th.
