AirPlay 2 Coming To Sonos Speakers In July

Apple’s AirPlay 2 will be making its way to selected Sonos speakers this July.

This gives iPhone/iPad users a one up to Android users with the ability to play music and podcasts through their Sonos devices.

AirPlay 2 will be available on Sonos Beam, Sonos One, Playbase and second-gen Play:5 through a software update.

New Sonos Beam Revealed Overnight

Sonos says Siri will also soon be available on those supported speakers.

The speakers also offer support for Amazon Alexa, a feature introduced in late April.

No word if or when Google Assistant will make its way to Sonos speakers but sources say it will happen eventually.

Overnight networked sound company Sonos unveiled its new HDMI soundbar, Sonos Beam in San Francisco.
