Dyson who have had multiple attempts at breaking into the robotic vacuum market and have failed is now having another crack with a new Dyson 360 vac.

Back in 2016 there was the Dyson 360 Eye, it bombed because it was not very good, then came the now the 360 Heurist which never made it to retail stores.

Now the manufacturer of overpriced vacuum cleaners is rolling out the Dyson 360 Vis Nav robot vacuum with questions raised as to whether it will actually be launched in Australia due to the success of robotic vacuum brands such as Ecovacs and iRobot.

Shorter and slimmer than previous models the Vis Nav is designed to work better in complicated homes that have lots of furniture and difficult cleaning locations.

While it has extra-long brush, and a squared shape Dyson is claiming that it has more suction power and a faster processor than competitors.

Missing from the new Dyson robotic vac is mopping or self-emptying, which we’ve seen on a lot of new robot vacuums recently including the new Ecovacs range.

Dyson claims it will have AI-powered obstacle avoidance and 26 sensors to avoid obstacles, detect dust, and find walls.

It also has a side-actuator brush that allows for “precision edge cleaning.”

the square head has been designed so that hat can get closer to edges and corners.

The Vis Nav can get under low furniture.

Dyson has also announced five other new products, including their first-ever attempt at a mopping vacuum.

Called the Dyson Submarine it will come with a wet roller head that can mop up wet spills like ketchup and milk, as well as remove dust and stains from hard floors.

An attachment to the Dyson V15s Detect Submarine and Dyson V12s Detect Slim Submarine vacuums, the roller head contains a small, 300ml clean water tank and a separate waste water tank with a motorized microfiber roller for scrubbing. Both models will also ship with standard vacuum cleaner heads, however, Dyson says the submarine attachment won’t work on existing vacuums.

Also coming is the Dyson Gen5detect and Dyson Gen5outsize and two giant indoor air purifiers — the Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde and the Dyson Purifier HEPA Big+Quiet Formaldehyde.

Dyson didn’t provide pricing or release dates for any models.
