Acer August Revenue Up 10.3% On Month

Acer has reported a 10.3% on-month lift in consolidated revenues for August 2019 hitting NT$20.21billion (AUD 956.256 million).

It follows a 4.7%% slump in year-to-date revenue to NT$148.36 billion (AUD 7.08 billion).

Strained US-China tensions were blamed for an 8.7% year-on-year drop in July consolidated revenues.

It comes after Acer unveiled a suite of products at IFA 2019, as well as an open esports community.

In August 2018 Acer notched a 110% increase in year-on-year revenue, complemented by new product ranges and a continued focus on esports.

The Taiwanese tech company has continued to jump into more niche tech, announcing a portable projector explicitly designed for smartphone content and vertical video, with a world-first auto-portrait mode.

Other new products include several new Chromebook, featuring the new 10 nanometer 10th Gen Intel Core processor.

It complements a new ConceptD Pro notebook for professional creators and its next-generation gaming community platform.

Acer has continued to double down on the gamer market, launching its Planet9 open community platform that connects players from amateur to pro.

Planet9 is currently in a closed beta and will enter open beta on the 20th of January 2020.
