Netflix Take-Up Slowing: Morgan

Netflix Take-Up Slowing: MorganBut the rate of growth slowed during August, gaining 118,000 new homes, compared with 133,000 in May, 152,000 in June and 166,000 in July, Morgan says.

Australian-based alternatives Stan and Presto are each in fewer than 1 per cent of homes, according to Morgan.

Meanwhile another service,  Telstra TV, is scheduled for release in October, with older, established households representing a potential growth area.

“This enormous pool of potential customers is uncertain about SVOD now, but they’ll soon see in their own homes how easy it is to access just by plugging in a Roku,” said Morgan exec Tim Martin in an apparent reference to a gadget launched by Amazon in 2011.
