Twitter Takes Wing In Australia
Twitter’s vice-president of Asia-Pacific, Latin America and emerging markets, Shailesh Rao, has been visiting clients and staff in Sydney in a bid to shore up the company after it announced revenue growth that fell short of market expectations, despite a raft of new products.
“Every quarter, every year, I want to make sure we grow the business,” Rao said. “Asia-Pacific for us is a growth engine, it’s the fastest growing and the largest contributor for Twitter worldwide.”
But market research firm Telsyte’s head analyst Foad Fadaghi said Twitter had so far failed to establish itself as an integral marketing tool for Australian businesses. “Most mid-market organisations don’t use Twitter and don’t really consider it a mass market. Twitter needs to find its place in the zoo,” Fadaghi said
