Online Shoppers Hanging Up

A survey of 1000 online shoppers across Australia and New Zealand conducted for Rackspace by PureProfile found that almost half (45 percent) of online shoppers have abandoned a purchase after experiencing frustrations with a Web site, while 47 percent have gone to a different site to purchase the same product.

About 83 percent of those surveyed shopped online for the convenience; 44 percent thought traditional retail outlet shopping was quicker – if, that is, they knew what they were looking for; and 43 percent preferred the service they received in-store.

In addition, nearly a third (29 percent) have given up online buying entirely and gone back to the High Street shops. See you at Gloria Jeans, maybe .
