According to Richard Tassone General Manager of Consumer at
Panasonic the Lumix DMC-CM1 will go on sale shortly aimed at camera enthusiasts
that want a high quality camera built into their smartphone.
The Lumix device has a 20MP sensor alongside your typical
Android smartphone internals. On top of capturing high-resolution stills, the
CM1 can also record 4K-video.
It’s equipped with a 28mm equivalent f/2.8 Leica Elmarit
lens and coupled with the larger sensor, it allows a user to capture
“excellent detail” said Tassone who believes that the device will
carry a lot of appeal for pro and semi pro photographers.
The Lumix CM1 has manual controls including a ring around
the lens and a ready to shoot switch.
The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm 2.3Ghz processor
running Android 4.4 KitKat phone also features a 4.7-inch 1080p LCD, plus 2GB
of RAM.
The device comes with 16GB of internal storage that can be
further bolstered with a microSD card up to 128GB in size.
Notably, the 20-megapixel sensor is of the 1-inch MOS-type,
this is similar to the sensor size of the Sony RX10.
The Lumix DMC-CM1 also has built a Venus engine that is also
built into Panasonic’s Lumix cameras, it also comes with a 2600mAh battery.
