 The Omni system, which connects to a Wi-Fi network, provides access to both Pandora and Spotify, along with other music services, internet radio stations and personal music collections, with Polk stating that additional services are planned for the future.
Leveraging DTS’ Play-Fi technology open platform design, users can additionally mix-and-match other Play-Fi-enabled audio products from any manufacturer with the Omni system products on a network, allowing users to grow their set-up in a personalised way. Paired with Polk’s Android and Apple-compatible Omni companion app, users can stream music from a smartphone, tablet or PC.
The Omni system products comprise: – Omni S2 Wireless Speaker ($299.99) – an ultra-compact speaker, designed to fit in small spaces like a bathroom countertop or bedside table, equipped with two 2″ full-range drivers powered by a two-channel amplifier, as well as two bass radiators for fuller bass response, a 3.5 mm analogue connection, and a USB for firmware updates and phone charging. – Omni S2 Rechargeable Wireless Speaker ($399.99) – a weather-resistant “portable, rugged solution”, taking music from the inside to outdoor living places, equipped with a built-in lithium ion battery, capable of playing up to 100 yards from a wireless router and delivering up to 10 hours of music on a full charge at moderate listening levels. The speaker also features the same number of drivers, bass radiators and connectivity options as the Omni S2. – Omni SB1 Sound Bar with included subwoofer ($1,299.99) – featuring VoiceAdjust technology, a voice-optimising sound bar system that “creates a broad, enveloping sound stage for movies, music and more”, utilising an optimised 3-speaker array with controllable voice channel level. Full Complement Bass technology enables the bar to create the lowest frequency ranges for a warmer, rich bass, while SmartBar technology allows it to learn a TV’s remote control. Polk states an included 8″ wireless subwoofer gives the system a rich bottom end, while eliminating the clutter of wires. – Omni P1 Adaptor ($399.99) – for updating an existing audio system with the latest music streaming services, featuring a variety of connectivity options, including an auxiliary input for hooking up to a Blu-ray and DVD player or cable/satellite box, digital outputs for connecting to a receiver and an optical input for a TV and other devices. – Omni A1 Amplifier ($549.99) – featuring a peak power rating of 75 W by two channels, creating a wide sound stage and allowing users to stream music wirelessly to existing component loudspeakers, and including customised EQ settings for optimising performance with Polk speakers, and a phono input for a turntable. |
