LG To Release New High-End Smartphone In H2
While manufacturers such as Samsung and HTC have unveiled their next generation flagship smartphones at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, LG is reportedly favouring an April release for the next in line in its G series, the G4.
It also now appears that LG will be adding to its high-end smartphone stable, with the G series to be joined by a new device.
“We are planning to release a product that stands above the G series,” The Korea Herald reported Cho Jun-ho, LG mobile business head, as stating at MWC.
“It will be launched during the second half of this year.”
While LG has held off on unveiling the G4, it has been active at MWC, unveiling a new range of mid-range smartphones in the form of the Magna, Spirit, Leon and Joy, and has additionally been showcasing its latest wearable device, the Android Wear LG Watch Urbane smartwatch.
Ahead of the release of the G4, LG has it sights on smartphone growth throughout the year.
“We aim to have our smartphone sales grow 20 per cent on-year in 2015,” The Korea Herald reported Cho as stating.
“If the popularity of the G2 and the G3 continues through the G4, we expect to grab a meaningful third-place presence.”
