Google Backer May Pump $100m Into Australian Tech Companies

Alberto Chang-Rajii, one of Google’s first backers at Stanford University in 1996, has made Grupo Arcano’s first Aussie play with a University of NSW-based company called Future Solar Technologies, which is developing “paint-on” solar cell technology.

Speaking to the Australian media for the first time, he told The Australian Financial Review he intended to spend up to $US100 million over the next two years in Australia, targeting areas like e-learning, agricultural production, nanotechnology, smart drugs and energy.

He said Future Solar Technologies represented the next generation of solar technology, with the potential to transform lives around the world.
