Xbox One S 2 TB Edition Launching August 2

Having last month taken the wraps off its latest entry into the console market, Microsoft has revealed that the Xbox One S will launch in the next few weeks.

Australia is on the list of initial launch countries, with Microsoft stating via a blog post that the 2 TB Xbox One S launch edition will begin hitting shelves in select regions on August 2.

Microsoft’s Australian Xbox website lists the 2 TB Xbox One S as being priced at $549, with it being available for pre-order from Microsoft, Harvey Norman and EB Games.

While 1 TB and 500 GB versions are also on the way, gamers after a cheaper version will have to wait – Microsoft has yet to reveal when they will be hitting the market, stating that more details “will be shared soon”.

The Xbox One S measures in 40 per cent smaller than the original Xbox One, and includes a built-in power supply, while one of the three USB ports and the pairing button have been moved to the front of the console alongside a newly added IR blaster.

The Xbox One S is also decked out with Blu-ray and video streaming with 4K with HDR support, and comes bundled with the new Xbox Wireless Controller, featuring textured grip, an improved Xbox Wireless signal and added Bluetooth support.
