Former LG OZ MD Gets Top US Gig
William Cho who was responsible for a major restructuring of the LG Australia operations after the local subsidiary was taken to task by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission will take over from former LG Electronics USA president Wayne Park who has been appointed head of global sales and marketing. William Cho, who has been with LG since 1987. He has held the positions of president of LG Electronics Canada, president of LG Electronics Australia, and headed up sales and marketing of LG’s global residential air conditioning business. During his time in Australia Cho was responsible for the hiring of several new executives including Lambro Skropidis, the marketing general manager of LG who was the former marketing manager at Samsung Australia. An LG spokesman said that in the transition, Cho will also be assuming the responsibilities of Jay Vandenbree, who recently announced he will be retiring as LG Electronics USA home entertainment senior VP at the end of the year. Vandenbree has also agreed to stay on through January in an advisory capacity. In his new role Cho will play a major role in the LG Electronics CES presentation. |
