Asus Streeetch Tai-Chi Ultra-Tab
Asus announce larger Taichi 31, a 13.3″ Ultrabook that transforms into a tablet. The 13.3-inch dual-screen Full HD (1920 x 1080) PC has the mobility of a detachable tablet with notebook specs – choice of Intel Core i7 or i5 processors, Windows 8/ 8 Pro, and massive storage – 128/256GB SATA III SSD.
Taichi 31 joins the 11.6-inch model launched in October.
With Full HD 13.3-inch touchscreens back-to-back, the (10-point multi-touch) screens work for Windows 8, so it is handy for work and comes with pressure-sensitive stylus for taking notes, and annotating documents.
The screen is made of scratch-resistant glass and has a wide 178 angle IPS.
Taichi 31 allows users to work in three ways – with the inner display active, Taichi 31 is a powerful Ultrabook, while the outer screen is for tablet use.
But both displays can also be active at the same time in Extended Desktop or Mirrored Desktop mode, handy for showing a presentation or video.
Other specs include: Dual-band Wi-Fi with Intel WiDi and Bluetooth 4.0, 2 X USB 3 ports, ASUS SonicMaster technology co-developed with Bang & Olufsen ICEpower, which “delivers astonishing sound quality,” say its makers.
The new Asus also has 5-megapixel auto-focus camera with 1080p Full HD video recording, and front-facing 720p HD camera, and noise-suppressing microphone.

Pricing starts at AU$1999 for Intel Core i5 model, and AU$2399 for Intel Core i7.
