Xbox Original Backwards Compatibility Arrives Tomorrow

The first handful of original backwards-compatible Xbox original titles for the Xbox One will arrive tomorrow.

Microsoft announced at this year’s E3 Expo its move to bring select titles from its original Xbox library to the Xbox One Marketplace

The first batch of Xbox original titles to hit the current console are:

  • Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
  • Ninja Gaiden Black
  • Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge
  • Fuzion Frenzy
  • Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
  • Psychonauts
  • Dead to Rights
  • Black
  • Grabbed by the Ghoulies
  • Sid Meier’s Pirates!
  • Red Faction II
  • BloodRayne 2
  • The King of Fighters Neowave

Online multiplayer is no longer possible, but as IGN reports, system-linking with some titles.

The 13 titles are enhanced from their original 480p/480i and now play in 1080p resolution and pla

All titles still run in a 4:3 aspect ratio, expect Ninja Gaiden Black, which natively supports 16:9.

Some titles are available right now.

Backwards compatible titles can be purchased from the Xbox Marketplace as a digital download for USD$99.9 (AUD$12.77), or can be installed if you still own the disc.
