EXCLUSIVE: World Cup Fever Hits, Aldi Sells 10,000 TV’s in 100 Minutes

The Bauhn TV which is supplied by Tempo has a built in PVR function, is ultrathin and has 3 HDMI slots.
The screen resolution is 1920 X 1080 with a contrast ratio of 3000:1, it weighs just 14.9 kilo.
An Aldi employee at North Sydney said “We were swamped, the 5o” TV’s sold out in under two hours in this store and there are no more 50″ models left in the network”.
Tempo executives were unable to comment.
ChannelNews understands that 10,000 units were delivered to Aldi stores.
The German retailer is currently selling a 32″ HD LED TV for $222.
Also on sale at Aldi stores is a cheap Medion sound bar which also sounds cheap.
The retailer is also selling TV mounts from Bauhn.
The TV Special Buy promotion was timed to coincide with the World Cup with Aldi catalogues listing the times for when Australia will play against Chile, Spain and the Netherlands.
