Velodyne Acoustics Appoints AVR as Exclusive Australian Distributor
Subwoofer specialist Velodyne Acoustics has appointed Audio Visual Revolution (AVR) as its exclusive distributor in Australia, strengthening the brand’s presence in a key hi-fi market.
Founded in Silicon Valley in 1983 by engineer David Hall, Velodyne built its reputation on breakthrough High Gain Servo subwoofers, technology that pioneered real-time cone motion correction for unmatched bass clarity.
Now operating under German company Audio Reference GmbH, Velodyne continues to focus on precision-engineered low-frequency performance under CEO Mansour Mamaghani.
The appointment of AVR marks a strategic expansion for Velodyne, aligning the subwoofer brand with a distributor already known for representing premium audio and home entertainment products locally.

AVR Managing Director Raffi Keverian said: “Velodyne is a name that commands respect in the world of high-fidelity audio. Their pursuit of technical excellence and design elegance fits perfectly with the calibre of products we represent.”
Mamaghani said the move was a “natural fit” for Velodyne: “AVR’s distribution reach, technical expertise and dedication to brand development make them the ideal representative for our subwoofers in Australia. We believe their local insights and marketing capability will help bring Velodyne’s signature sound to a broader audience than ever before.”
The full Velodyne Acoustics range will be available through AVR’s national retailer network in the coming months.
