Foxtel’s Carrot To Game of Thrones Fans

Foxtel slashes price of Premium Movies & Drama as it looks to lure Game of Thrones fans, which is about to kick off a new season on their ‘Showcase’ channel. 

The Pay TV giant is offering streaming of Premium Movies & Drama on, Play IPTV service, for $10, playing on the fact they have a cult HBO series exclusive in Australia.

Foxtel CEO Richard Freudenstein said, “Game of Thrones is one of the most popular programs in the world, and is a favourite among Australian viewers. 


“Foxtel’s agreement with HBO means we can provide our customers with first run access to Game of Thrones Season 4 along with a great library of movies from the Foxtel Movies channels, which we’re thrilled to offer Foxtel Play customers at a special rate during season 4 of this landmark show.”
The move comes as Foxtel looks to boost flagging numbers to its Pay TV service with IPTV services with no lock in contracts, and launched internet movie service, Presto, today. 

Foxtel is offering the discount to new sign ups to Foxtel Play in April and to existing Play subscribers. But the $10 per month applies for the first three months, only. After that it will cost $25 per month. Foxtel is also offering the deal to mainstream subscribers. 
Foxtel ‘Express from the US’ has Game of Thrones Season 4 returning Monday April 7. Other series include Mad Men, Girls, House of Cards, True Blood and a library of movies.

Foxtel Play IPTV service is available on LG and Samsung Smart TVs, Xbox 360, Samsung BluRay, PC and Mac, smart phones and tablets.
