Technics has unveiled a second-generation model of its SU-G700 integrated amp with a lower price point and the same flagship technology integrated within.
The SU-G700M2 features what Technics dub the JENO Engine: a Jitter Elimination and Noise-Shaping Optimisation engine which removes distortion and jitter, as well as Load Adaptive Phase Calibration, which optimised the performance of the connected speakers.
New semiconductors make for a more efficient current supply, while the dynamic power and stereo imaging are improved upon the flagship.
The amp can be connected to turntables, with a special phono input phase perfect for playback with older record players.
The SU-G700M2 will retail for approximately $AUD4,100 from November, and is being launched with new models of Technics’ SB-G90M2 floorstanders and SB-C600 bookshelf speakers.
The SB-90M2 floorstanders ($AUD4,100) sport a 25mm dome with a 160mm aluminium midrange cone, accompanied by two 160mm aluminium subwoofers, and a reworked coaxial driver unit diaphragm, for reduced reverberation, and is bi-wired.
The SB-C600 bookshelf speakers ($AUD$1,500) pack the same optimised drivers, and reverb reduction as the floorstanders, with a 15cm woofer coupled with the 25mm aluminium dome tweeter.
