TCL Takes It Right Up To Hisense With Major Cup & Soccer Deal
TCL who have a foot and in both the TV and smartphone market in Australia have taken on arch rival Hisense at their own game announcing a big-ticket sponsorship of both the Melbourne Cup and The Melbourne Victory in the A League Soccer.
TCL who are a growing brand in Australia are a major manufacturer globally of both TV’s and smartphones.
Between 2008 and 2016 Hisense has seen their global share of the TV market grow from 1.6% in 2008 to 6.1% in 2016, while TCL whose products are sold at Harvey Norman has seen their share increase from 2.3% in 2008 to 9% in 2016 according to Statistica Research.
Today TCL is significantly larger than Hisense in the global TV market.
In the USA Sharp recently commenced legal action against Hisense claiming that their Hisense made, Sharp branded, TV’s leak radiation is smaller in screen size, brightness and resolution than indicated on packaging and web pages.
Recently in a local review Gizmodo said that because of a lack of HDR support in the Hisense TV offering “the $1199 to $4299 TCL C2 is one of their top picks” in its price range.
“Short of any incredibly good cut-price deals from any of TCL’s top competitors” which in the value market includes fellow TCL arch rival Hisense who have been forced to buy market share with heavy discounting in the Australian market.
In their latest sponsorship coup TCL have taken on the Melbourne Victory who have Tim Cahill as one of their key players.
Tomorrow at the Melbourne Cup the Company will have over 500 TV’s spread around the race track.
Their smartphone division which manufacturers the Alcatel range of smartphones in Australia, are currently number 3 in the market they have also recently launched the Blackberry smartphone.
In China their TV plant delivers over 24M TV’s a year.
