TCL To Launch Its First QD-OLED TV
As if their AI glasses and smartphone range weren’t enough, TCL has announced that it will be launching its first QD-OLED TV in the coming months.
Samsung Display is the only company that makes QD-OLED panels at the moment which gives it an edge over LG Display which only produces OLED panels as of now.
TCL is well-known for delivering solid products at rock-bottom prices, so it would not be a a surprise if their QD-OLED TV ends up costing way less than the Samsung Display TVs.
QD-OLED appears to be superior to OLED, but OLED manufacturing is further ahead, with panel sizes that range as large as 98 inches. We’re curious to see how the company plans to dish out good quality panels at such low prices (expected).
Unfortunately, TCL has not given us any specifics about the panels yet.
We’re missing key info like price, availability, screen sizes, resolution (likely 4K), smart TV platforms (Roku or Google TV), and whether or not it adopt the same native 144Hz refresh rate that Samsung has announced for its 2023 S95C QD-OLED TV.
Hopefully, we will get more information as the year goes.
