TCL’s New X11H Mini-LED TV Breaks Brightness Barrier

After the recent launch of the X11H Max 163-inch micro-LED TV, TCL has announced its next generation miniLED LCD TV X11H in China, which features 6,500 nits peak brightness.

The miniLED LCD TV X11H is available in two versions, the 98-inch model with 14,112 miniLED dimming zones, and an 85-inch model with 10,368 dimming zones, according to a report on FlatpanelsHD.

Despite the similar name, the X11H is not the same as the recently-announced X11H Max, which is TCL’s US$110,000 163-inch micro-LED TV that has reportedly close to 25 million individual micro-LEDs in it, and is claimed to be capable of achieving peak brightness of 10,000 nits.

According to TCL, the X11H Max is longer than a Rolls Royce and is a ceiling-level TV for the living room.

TCL claims that both versions feature new mini-LED backlighting that is 40% more energy efficient than regular mini-LED backlighting, and are also said to be as thin as a tablet.

In addition to the 144Hz refresh rate, TCL said the mini-LED zones communicate with the panel with zero latency.

The TCL X11H is now available in China, but there has been no confirmation that it will arrive in other markets.

At CES earlier this year, TCL showcased its 115-inch QM891G Mini-LED which features Quantum Dots, and has 20,000 separate dimming zones and over 5,000 nits of brightness. It developed a new processor, the AIPQ Ultra, to maintain control of all those dimming zones.
