TCL is expanding its presence in the OLED monitor market with two new models, introducing updated 32-inch and 27-inch displays following the company’s recent move to sell its first OLED monitor outside China.

The TCL 32X3B and 27X3B represent the manufacturer’s second generation of OLED monitors. While TCL is best known internationally for its televisions, particularly its Mini LED LCD models, the company is continuing to broaden its display portfolio with products aimed at PC users and gamers.

Both monitors were revealed in China towards the end of July, with availability in Western markets expected at a later stage. Pricing and specific international release dates have not yet been announced.

Visually, the two models share a similarly slim design that takes advantage of the thin construction possible with OLED panel technology. Their appearance closely follows TCL’s existing 32X3A, although the move from the ‘A’ to ‘B’ designation brings several specification improvements.

The 32-inch 32X3B receives an increase in claimed peak brightness, rising from 1,300 nits on the 32X3A to 1,500 nits. TCL has also introduced an upgraded anti-reflective coating designed to reduce distracting reflections when the display is used in brighter environments.

Resolution and refresh-rate options remain particularly focused on gaming. The 32X3B can display 4K content at up to 240Hz, while users prioritising higher frame rates can switch to 1080p at up to 480Hz.

TCL’s smaller 27X3B uses a 1440p resolution panel with a maximum refresh rate of 280Hz. The company is also claiming peak brightness of 1,500 nits and a response time of 0.03ms.

Colour performance is another focus, with the 27-inch monitor supporting 10-bit colour. TCL says units are factory calibrated to achieve a Delta E measurement below 1, targeting users who require high colour accuracy alongside gaming performance.

Despite TCL’s work on printed RGB OLED technology through its TCL CSOT display business, neither of the new monitors uses the company’s emerging printed panel technology.

Instead, the 32X3B and 27X3B are built around fourth-generation WOLED panels, which are believed to originate from LG Display.

Connectivity includes HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.1, providing support for the high resolutions and refresh rates offered by the displays.

TCL has also incorporated B&O audio technology into both monitors, adding a premium audio component to the otherwise gaming-focused specifications.

The 27X3B receives an additional Black Frame Insertion mode. BFI technology inserts black frames between displayed images to improve perceived motion clarity, potentially making fast-moving games appear sharper.

With higher brightness, high refresh rates and an ultra-thin OLED design, TCL’s second-generation monitors indicate the company is becoming more serious about competing in the premium PC display market.

International pricing remains unknown, but more information is expected when TCL confirms availability for markets outside China.
