STIHL Recalls Magnum Backpack Blower Over Injury Risk
STIHL has issued a recall for its BR 800 C-E Z Magnum high-powered petrol backpack blower due to a fan wheel failure that could eject fragments and cause injuries to operators or bystanders.
The recall covers two material numbers manufactured in the United States:
- Material Number 4283-011-1602: Serial range 546297056 to 547916107
- Material Number 4283-011-1605: Serial range 840424772 to 840603164
Units were available for sale from September 1 to October 10, 2025.
The fan wheel in affected units may fail and break apart, resulting in fragments being ejected from the blower.
This poses a risk of lacerations or cuts to operators or bystanders if they are hit by ejected fragments.

STIHL is instructing consumers to:
- Stop using affected blowers immediately
- Return affected units to an authorised STIHL workshop for free inspection and repair
