Solar Energy Battery Market Gets Another New Player

The push to get Australian home owners with solar panels to install household batteries capable of storing solar energy for use round the clock appears to be hotting up.

On top of Adelaide based Redflow’s Zcell products, soon to hit the market, and plans by Tesla principal Elon Musk to enter the Australian market, US-based Enphase Energy has also announced its products will soon be available in Australia and NZ.

The first shipment of its wall-mountable Enphase AC battery, pictured, should arrive in Australia and New Zealand in August, the company said yesterday.

It says that a network of more than 1000 installers in the region will be the first in the world to have access to the Enphase battery, which is described as a scalable, modular energy storage system.

Solar installers can order it through Australian distributors AC Solar Warehouse, One Stop Warehouse, RFI, Solar + Solutions and SunEdison.

Homeowners can be connected with local installers via www.enphase.com/au/quote.
