Sennheiser Launches Accentum Clip Open-Ear Wireless Earbuds
Sennheiser has expanded its wireless audio range with the introduction of the Accentum Clip, marking the company’s first venture into the growing open-ear earbud category. Designed for people who want to enjoy music while remaining aware of their surroundings, the new earbuds clip securely onto the outer ear instead of sitting inside the ear canal.
The lightweight design sees each earbud weigh just 6.8g, while the charging case brings the total carry weight to 57g. Available in Cream White and Classic Black, the Accentum Clip also carries an IP54 rating, providing protection against sweat and light rain for everyday use.
Rather than relying on traditional in-ear silicone tips, the flexible clip-on design is intended to deliver a more comfortable fit during commuting, exercise or outdoor activities where environmental awareness is important.
Sound is delivered through a 12mm dynamic driver, with Sennheiser incorporating a specialised internal damping system to reduce sound leakage, a common challenge with open-ear headphones. The company has also included a Dynamic Equaliser that automatically adjusts the sound profile depending on listening volume. At lower volumes, bass and fine details are enhanced, while higher listening levels produce a more balanced audio signature.
The Accentum Clip supports SBC, AAC and LDAC codecs, enabling higher-quality wireless audio on compatible devices. Connectivity is handled by Bluetooth 6.0, while multipoint pairing allows the earbuds to remain connected to two devices simultaneously, making it easier to switch between a smartphone and laptop without reconnecting.

For voice calls, the earbuds use environmental noise cancellation technology to help isolate the speaker’s voice and minimise background noise. Touch-sensitive controls on each earbud manage music playback, calls and other functions, while support for smart pause and single-earbud operation adds further flexibility.
Users can customise sound settings and touch controls through the Sennheiser Smart Control Plus app, available for both iOS and Android devices.
Battery life is rated at up to 36 hours when used with the included USB-C charging case. Fast charging support also provides a quick power boost when time is limited.
The Accentum Clip first launched globally in Canada with a recommended retail price of approximately A$303 and has now been introduced in China for around A$320, although Sennheiser has not yet announced Australian pricing or local availability. The launch reflects growing demand for open-ear wireless earbuds, a category attracting increasing competition as consumers seek alternatives that balance audio performance with greater situational awareness.
