Scammers Impersonate JB Hi-Fi

JB Hi-Fi has taken to Facebook and Twitter to denounce scammers who are pretending to offer jobs as product testers for the retailer via SMS.

The message is designed to look like a friendly offer and then directs the reader to click on a malicious link.

To trick the recipient, the message includes the name and city of the targeted person.

JB Hi-Fi alerted people over social media, exposing the scam and clarifying that they would never ask for personal information via SMS.

The only texts that JB Hi-Fi will send are notifications, services or digital receipts if you specifically asked for one when you made a purchase at the counter.
