SanDisk + Harvey Norman Still Stinging Customers

SanDisk who is desperately trying to flog their new iXpand Flash Drive has not explained why the same product is selling in the US significantly cheaper.

A 64GB iXpand Flash Drive is selling at Best Buy for US$79.99, taking into account the exchange rates the cost blows out to A$106. Harvey Norman is selling the same product for $178 which is $72 more expensive.The irony is that this is supposed to be a “Clearance” price. 

A 32GB SanDisk iXpand Flash Drive is selling at Harvey Norman for $128 while the same product at Best Buy is US$59.

The storage device, introduced in April, features a flexible Lightning connector and has redesigned app that allows iPhone and iPad users to offload their photos, videos and music claims SanDisk who is coming under pressure from Cloud based storage services such as Dropbox who basically deliver 5GB of storage from an iPhone for free.

Apple dumped the use of SanDisk memory resulting in sales slumping. The Company was eventually sold too Western Digital.iDrive
