The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 will house a cover screen larger than three inches, as it takes on an increasing array of copycat flip models which make use of this valuable real estate.

This is according to Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), who tout themselves as “the world’s leading firm focused solely on flat panel display industry insight.”

Ross claimed the Galaxy Z Flip5 will sport a cover screen larger than the Oppo Find N2 Flip (below), which measures 3.26″ diagonally.

The Flip4 comes with a 1.9″ cover display.

He also claimed the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 will feature a completely different hinge design to “reduce the visibility of the seam”.

Given the last generation came in August, it’s too early to confirm or deny these reports. But it makes sense, given Samsung’s focus on the external screen during its last launch, adding new aesthetic and useful features.
