Samsung has launched a rugged, enterprise-focused version of its Galaxy Tab Active5, designed for professionals who require durability and reliability in harsh working conditions.

The Galaxy Tab Active5 Enterprise Edition is built to withstand tough environments, featuring MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability, IP68 water and dust resistance, and a protective IP68-certified S Pen.

The tablet also comes with a removable 5,050mAh battery and a unique No-Battery Mode, allowing continuous operation while connected to power – ideal for factory floors, logistics hubs and field work.

The device features an 8-inch WUXGA LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals, along with stereo speakers tuned for noisy workplaces.

The tablet is powered by an Exynos 1380 octa-core processor, offering 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage, expandable via microSD up to 1TB. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and USB-C.

Samsung has also bolstered the tablet’s productivity and security features. Buyers receive a 12-month subscription to Knox Suite Enterprise Security, along with one-year access to Samsung SDS’ Brity Works collaboration suite, including two months of AI-powered Brity Copilot.

Additional perks include a Push-to-Talk Zello subscription and up to 50% off Google Workspace for SMEs.

On the software front, the tablet runs Android 15 with One UI 7 and will receive seven major Android updates, extending support well beyond industry norms. Samsung is pairing this with a three-year warranty, covering most components and one year on the battery.

Other features include a 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, fingerprint scanner, programmable keys and compatibility with Samsung DeX for desktop-style productivity.

The Galaxy Tab Active5 Enterprise Edition is aimed at sectors such as defense, logistics, manufacturing, retail and public safety, where standard tablets often fall short. It is priced at A$1,049.
