Samsung Takes Galaxy S23 Features To Older Devices
Owners of older Samsung phones can now benefit from the advances of their latest flagship device, with the release of the Galaxy S23’s One UI 5.1 software on a long line of their legacy handsets.
The update is ready for Galaxy S23 series owners straight out of the box, and now it will reportedly be good to go for the Galaxy S22, S21, S21 FE, S20 and S20 FE, as well as Samsung’s Fold and Flip foldable devices.
While all of those handsets already enjoy the Android 13-packing One UI 5.0 update, this new release features improvements to the gallery and camera apps, as well as enhanced multitasking features and more power for Bixby to deal with unwanted calls. There are also new personalisation options.

Regarding the multitasking enhances, there is now the ability to maximise or minimise apps by dragging the corners. Plus, you’ll also be able to see the apps you use most when you start the split-screen view.
The update also lets you set a new wallpaper that goes with what you’re doing – for example, working or exercising.
The weather app also gets a boost, with a revamped widget, severe weather alerts and hourly precipitation graphs.
Plus, if you’re signed into a Samsung internet account on a second device you’ll be able to keep browsing. Bixby will also be able to automatically accept calls and try to find out why the dialer is calling, similar to a Google Assistant tool.
You can also now see the status of your Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Buds, S Pen and more via a new multi-device battery widget.
