Samsung is planning to ship 15 million units of the Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 series this year, but has set a far more conservative target for the following year’s model.

Samsung’s fourth generation of foldables will be the most produced and shipped in the series to date, but troubling outlook for smartphone sales, and economy uncertainties that are expected to flow into next year has led the company to lower its 2023 production.

Samsung is aiming to ship 10 million units of Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5.

Interestingly, Z Flip 5 will account for 8 million units, while the Z Fold 5 will only account for 2 million.

Both phones will sport Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (SM8550) application processor, which is made with TSMC’s 4nm node.

Of course, given the Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 haven’t launched yet, it is likely these number will change, especially if the market steadies.
