Samsung has launched the world’s first 500Hz QD-OLED gaming monitor, bringing a new level of speed and visual clarity to PC gaming.

The 27-inch Odyssey OLED G6, first teased at CES 2025, has an ultra-fast 0.03ms response time, 2560×1440 resolution, and support for both NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync over HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4.

Unlike traditional high-refresh LCD monitors, which can advertise rates of 600Hz or more, Samsung’s QD-OLED technology delivers superior motion clarity even at lower frame rates due to faster pixel response times.

Gamers also benefit from HDR performance, with DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification and peak brightness up to 1,000 nits.

The G6 joins Samsung’s expanding QD-OLED lineup, including the new Odyssey G7 series, which introduces larger curved displays designed for immersive gameplay.

The 37-inch G7 features a 1000R curved 4K UHD display with a 165Hz refresh rate, while the 40-inch G7 offers a 21:9 ultra-wide WUHD screen with 180Hz speed and VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification.

Elsewhere, MSI has also entered the 500Hz market with the 272QP X50, currently available for pre-order in the US, while Acer, Asus, and Gigabyte are expected to launch models later this year. AOC has teased its upcoming AG276QKD2.

Samsung’s new monitor is built for extended gaming sessions, with OLED Safeguard+ to reduce burn-in, Pantone validation for accurate colors, and Glare Free technology for minimal reflections.

The arrival of 500Hz QD-OLED monitors marks a clear step forward in gaming display technology, combining ultra-fast refresh rates with true-to-life visuals.
