Samsung Hints At New Forthcoming Galaxy Ring
Back in 2015, Samsung patented a smart ring that could control a smart home through twisting the ring on the user’s finger. It could change the channels on the TV, dim the lights, close the blinds and more.
Nothing ended coming from this, however, Samsung did trademark the names ‘Galaxy Ring,’ ‘Samsung Circle,’ ‘Samsung Index,’ and ‘Samsung Insight’ earlier this year. In the new Samsung Health Beta, it appears there’s hints at the Ring.
There isn’t much to go off, but it suggests the Ring could come with health-tracking features.
For example: the Oura Smart Ring from 2021, could continuously track heart rate and blood-oxygen, measure skin temperature, could track sleep, and count steps. Battery life lasted up to a week.
Samsung has yet to confirm or deny anything, but with the Galaxy Watch 6 series being released this July, the company may bring up the ring as well.
