Samsung has started production of key components for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4, with production orders suggesting the company is expecting big things.
According to TheElec, the company has placed orders for “mid-to-late-10 million units” in total, for the two phones. This is quite a leap from the 7 million units Samsung produced last year for the Galaxy Z 3 series.
Galaxy Z Flip 4 will account for 70 per cent of the units produced while Galaxy Z Fold 4 will account for 30 per cent.
Samsung Display is currently increasing its Vietnam facilities to allow for more foldable panel manufacturing, and should be complete during the current quarter.
This will increase production to 2 million units a month, from 1.5 million units.
