Razer Brings Modular Design to PS4 Controllers And Headsets

Razer is bringing their gamer focused, custom RGB style to Playstation 4, releasing two new controllers and a gaming headset directly to American consumers through their website, with in store sales coming world wide later this year.

These officially licensed controllers, known as the Razer Raiju Ultimate and Raiju Tournament Editions, are intended to push the development of controller devices.

Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO felt that progress had stagnated, commenting “Console games continue to set new standards for game play, but controller designs have been slow to evolve in step with those advancements,

“The power of PS4 offers an incredibly immersive experience with controllers that can unlock the platform’s potential and headsets that exploit the richness of Sony audio.”

Customisation is at the forefront of the Raiju Ultimate experience, both to its physical form and to its software via the Razer app.

The controller will sport Razer’s now signature RGB LED design elements, which can be customised not only to display the colours of your choice, but also to react to the gaming experience by syncing with controller vibrations and by pairing lighting designs with button actions.

You will be able to map more than 500 profiles to your controller, fully customising the functions of each button to your play style or game genre. This includes modifying the sensitivity of each joystick to give the player the amount of fluidity or control they prefer.

Personalisation of the device extends beyond the software as the thumb sticks, buttons and D-pad are completely replaceable. Mecha-Tactile Action Buttons can replace the standard set, combining a cushioned membrane rubber dome with the crisp feedback of a mechanical switch.

The Raiju Ultimate supports Bluetooth, USB and PC connections.
