Polk Command Bar Coming To Oz Next Week

The Polk Command Bar is landing in Australia next week, one of the first soundbars to have Amazon Alexa Integration priced at $649.

The Polk Command Bar was shown at this year’s CES in January.

The Command Bar supports Alexa home skills including controlling lights and locks plus Amazon Music and can read books from Audible.

Amazon streaming devices can be plugged into the bar’s two HDMI 2.0a ports and get power from the bar’s USB port to stream video content to an HDMI-connected TV. The HDMI ports are spaced to fit the Amazon Fire TV Stick and other wide HDMI-streaming dongles.

The Polk Audio Command Bar is fitted with two 31×83mm full-range drivers and two 25mm tweeters.

A separate wireless powered subwoofer delivers low-frequencies via a 165mm bass drive.

Gopal Govindram from Polk Audio Australia says, “The Command Bar is a key piece in our future strategy of integrated voice activated sound devices. Together with our Google Play integrated Magnifi range of sound bars and the Polk Assist speaker, the current range of voice integrated products is better than any of our competitors and a just a stepping stone towards future product.”

It will be available from major retailers, specialist AV retailers and on Amazon at $649.

Polk Audio products are distributed exclusively by Westan Australia.
