Philips Announce OLED TVs With 2,100 Nits Of Brightness

The 2023 Philips OLED television lineup is aimed squarely at gamers, with blistering refresh rates, numerous lighting features, and a model that tops end at a blinding 2,100 nits of brightness.

The OLED+908 is the star of the lineup, with a maximum brightness of 2,100 nits. It boasts Dolby Vision 4K, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a META OLED panel that Philips claims will offer up to 70 per cent improvement over previous panels.

The 908 models have an 80 watt integrated 3.1 channel Bowers and Wilkins sound system built in, with six front-mounted drivers. Interestingly, Philips has opted for Google TV OS instead of the previously-featured Android TV.

The +908 will be available in 55, 65, and 77 inch models.

The Philips OLED808 model will come in five sizes, starting at 42 inches, and offers OLED-EX panels with up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness, and a 70 watt, 2.1 channel sound system.

All 2023 TVs are equipped with a number of excellent gaming features: a 7th Gen P5AI processor with V2 Ambient intelligence will adjust the colour, lighting and brightness in real time, while the XYZ light sensor will optimise the colour temperature to suit your surrounding lighting conditions. HDMI 2.1 eARC makes connectivity a breeze, too.

TP Vision is yet to announce pricing and availability, other than to say the televisions will hit the market in the second quarter of 2023.
