Peloton Launches First Foldable Treadmill With New AI Training Features
Peloton is expanding its home fitness range with three new treadmills, including its first foldable model and a suite of AI-powered features designed to personalise workouts.
The new line-up comprises the Tread Flex, Tread Vision and flagship Tread Plus Vision, with all three models scheduled to go on sale from October 1.
The Tread Flex is the most affordable of the three at US$2,200, equivalent to approximately A$3,300. It is also Peloton’s first treadmill designed to fold away, reducing its floor footprint by up to 50 per cent when not in use.
That design could make the treadmill better suited to apartments and smaller home gyms. Peloton is positioning the model primarily towards walking, hiking and lower-impact exercise rather than intensive running.

Sitting above it is the Tread Vision, priced at US$3,500, or approximately A$5,250. It features a 23.8-inch swivelling display, speakers tuned by Sonos and an integrated camera. The model is designed for walking, jogging and running, as well as strength workouts away from the treadmill.
The Tread Plus Vision sits at the top of the range for US$6,700, approximately A$10,050. Designed with higher-mileage runners in mind, it uses a slat-belt running surface and ball-bearing system and incorporates Peloton’s latest training technology.
A major part of the update is Peloton IQ, which introduces several AI-assisted features across the range.
Run Analysis examines metrics including cadence, vertical oscillation and stride length, providing information that can be used to assess running form and efficiency. IQ Pace Targets can recommend speeds based on an individual’s selected training goals.
Heart Rate Zone Workouts can also use information from compatible smartwatches and fitness trackers to personalise training targets.
Peloton has introduced ReRuns, which can recreate the incline changes from outdoor running routes recorded through the Peloton app. Sled Mode provides another training option, adding up to 300lb, or approximately 136kg, of resistance for strength-focused workouts.
Peloton IQ will also support biometric information from Whoop devices, expanding Peloton’s existing integrations with Apple Health, Fitbit and Garmin Connect.
The new treadmills are scheduled to go on sale from October 1. Australian pricing and availability have not been confirmed.
