Look Out Foxtel: EzyFlix.tv Is Coming Soon

And it has big content players Foxtel, Telstra and FetchTV in its sights.

“Unlike Foxtel, Bigpond or Fetch-TV, EzyFlix.tv is a transactional ‘video on demand’ and ‘download’ to own service… So no subscription fees or contracts required,” said Craig White CEO of Access Digital Entertainment, who operates the fledgling IPTV service, due to hit our screens next month.

The service will be marketed through its existing Ezydvd service that sells DVD and Blu Rays online, and will offer 2000 TV and movie titles at launch – expected in May – and is planning to secure rights to other Hollywood movie houses in the coming weeks, says White.

“You can buy a single episode of TV or a full season pass of current
shows express (XPRS) from the US at exactly the same time as they are
available for catch up in Australia and without the need for a set top
box,” – something which Foxtel prides itself on is its exclusive deals with US content houses including HBO.

The on-demand cloud service means you can watch movies and TV shows anywhere on any device – and best of all you can keep the EzyFlix movies forever in its virtual locker, called UltraViolet.

UltraViolet is a free, cloud-based digital rights collection that allows users to watch movies and TV shows they purchase on any device, 24/7. Users can also share their UltraViolet collection with up to five other people.

When you purchase UltraViolet movies or TV shows, you download a digital version or stream to any eligible connected device.

“The underlying premise in the establishment of Access Digital Entertainment is our core belief that while consumers’ interest in watching new release movies and TV shows is evergreen their appetite to watch them anytime, anywhere and on any device will grow exponentially,” says White.

White also plans to expand EzyFlix.tv to the UK sometime this year.
