Kobo announced its limited-edition Aura HD (1440 x 1080) E Ink eReader – the highest-resolution and fastest available in an eReader, today.

Designed for the ultimate bookworm Kobo Aura HD is like reading a paper book, with the 6.8″ Pearl E Ink touchscreen at 265 dpi, and E Ink tech means it’s easy on the eyes.

The Aura HD offers 30 per cent more reading surface and the closest experience to print-on-paper.

The Aura is also page turned – literally –  with its 1GHz processor that will turn page quickly, making it the fastest eReader on the market – up to 25 per cent faster.

It also has WiFi, 24 adjustable font sizes, 4GB of storage (expandable up to 32GB) to store thousands of eBooks, and has a whopping battery life of up to two months. You can also take notes and share to Facebook.

Kobo’s ebookstore has 3 millions books, mags and newspapers.

The new Kobo has a book-inspired design is available in Ivory, Espresso and Onyx and can be pre-ordered at Kobo.com and hits retailers for RRP A$219.99 in June.
