4.1 Jelly Bean Spill Samsung S III "Oct"?
Samsung recently confirmed an upgrade to Android 4.1 will be winging its way to the Galaxy S III “very soon” at the IFA show in Berlin.

But it seems “soon” may be October as a spokesperson for Samsung UK indicated to CNET UK this week.

Testing of the new OS on the S III is said to be in its final stages.

The S III currently runs Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0, but an upgrade to Google’s Jelly Bean 4.1 will bring all kinds of additional software delights, including better S-Voice search, and Google Now, which delivers personal info like weather, traffic, public transport or sports every morning.

A spokesperson for Samsung Australia could not confirm when the upgrade is hitting Aussie S III owners but did say the S III 4G version, coming soon to Telstra, will have Android 4.1 pre-installed.

Samsung expects to sell 30 million S IIIs by the end of the year, it said this week, after recently confirming  20 m of its hero handset had been sold in the first 100 days since release.

Other Androids said to be privvy to the Jelly Bean upgrade include Samsung’s Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S, Motorola’s Xoom and a few HTCs.
