Oz E-Sports Outfit Raises $3.5m

Australian e-sports media company Gamurs says it has has raised some $3.5 million as it looks to expand internationally.

The capital-raising exercise was led by Aura Funds Management.

This comes as Gamurs claims to have signed 2.7 million monthly active users and to be on track to achieve 4.5 million before the end of the year. By the end of 2018, founder Chikani told the Financial Review he is targeting 10 million monthly active users by the end of 2018/

E-sports is a rapidly growing form of competitive computer games, sometimes enacted before large crowds in big-city stadiums.
